Avocado Cream Sauce

This Avocado Cream Sauce is a fresh and creamy sauce that is delicious on salads (try my Grilled Chicken Salad with Avocado Cream Sauce), tacos, use it a garnish for Mexican Dishes (it’s great as a topping on a warm smothered burrito or on loaded nachos), and it’s even so yummy as a chip or veggie dip!

The Flavor

I love the flavors in the sauce. There’s avocado, cilantro, fresh lime and sour cream. Using sour cream gives it a smooth, creamy texture with a bit of a tangy bite. I can’t get enough cilantro in my Mexican flavored dishes and the cilantro in this sauce adds a fresh citrus flavor along with the fresh lime. It all comes together and blends perfectly with the avocado.

Grilled Chicken Salad with the sauce

I usually make Avocado Cream Sauce to go on a grilled chicken salad (Try my Grilled Chicken Salad with this sauce by clicking HERE!). I make and it replaces my salad dressing. This salad definitely leans towards Mexican flavors. In my salad I add in grilled taco chicken, cilantro lime rice, tomatoes, red onions, sliced avocados and a bit of fresh squeezed lime juice. This salad is a light fresh salad that fills you up! I have even added black beans and some shredded cheese and crushed tortilla chips before and it’s even more delicious!

Making the Avocado Cream Sauce

I think I mentioned this Avocado Cream Sauce is fast and easy to make. It takes minutes to make! Minutes!

First, I throw my sour cream, an avocado, cilantro, lime juice (check out the lime juicer below that I love… it is cheap and perfect) and kosher salt in my food processor (or blender).

Next, I blend it up and it’s ready to eat! You can adjust any of the flavors in the sauce. If you like more lime juice, add more, add more salt or cilantro as well!

This recipe makes about 2 cups of sauce!

Give it a try, I know you will love it!
