Pineapple mango salsa is a yummy and fresh fruit salsa that is sweet, with a touch of heat. It is delicious as a garnish or side to your favorite Mexican dishes and is a delicious salsa to eat with tortilla chips.

This fresh salsa can be thrown together in about 10 minutes and will be the best snack or Mexican food topping you have ever tried!

I love to eat mine with tortilla chips but you can put it on tacos, burritos enchiladas or toss it in a salad, or however you like!

Fresh Ingredients for the Best Ever Pineapple Mango Salsa

For this salsa you will need mangoes, pineapple, jalapeño, a red bell pepper, a red onion, some fresh lemon and lime juice and some kosher salt.

I used about 5 mangos, not quite an entire pineapple, one medium sized onion (I like a lot of onion in mine), a medium jalapeno (you can use more or less or your liking) and one red bell pepper.

Fresh lemon and lime juice balance the flavors with a bit of coarse salt.

You will need to dice/cut up your pineapple. Cut the pineapple into smaller pieces.

Dice/cut the mangoes into smaller pieces as well.

Red onion is diced in to smaller prieces.

Then your red pepper needs diced up into small pieces as well.

Dice your jalapeño into tiny pieces.

diced jalapeno

You can see in the pictures that I dice my fruit and peppers pretty small but you can dice it as big or as small as you like.

Make the Salsa

Add all of your cut up fruit, peppers and jalapeno to a large bowl. Give it a good stir/mix so it all combined well.

Squeeze your fresh lemon and lime juice.

Add your kosher salt and give it a good mix.

Adjust the juices or salt as needed. You can easily add more or less of any of the ingredients, the recipe is just how I like mine but it is easy to adjust as needed.

I like the salsa better after it has chilled and sat in refrigerator for a few hours. The flavors just seem to come together a bit more. But you can eat it as soon as it is made! It is a fresh and sweet with a bit of heat that you will love!

To make this salsa even better I add some Tajin seasoning to the salsa.

Tajin is the perfect salty and sweet blend of seasonings with some heat and sour zing. It enhances all of the flavors in this salsa and makes it perfect. (This is optional).

A plastic bottle of Tain seasoning that is added to pineapple mango salsa.

Just add a little bit and give it a stir. Add more to your liking.

Hope you enjoy!

  • 1 1/2 cups mangoes, diced small

  • 1 small-medium red onion, diced small about 3/4-1 cup
  • 1 medium jalapeno, diced very small about 3 tbsp

  • juice from 1 lemon, squeezed fresh or more to taste
  • Tajin Seasoning *optional

Add Tajin seasoning (optional) and adjust flavors as needed.
  • Serve with tortilla chips or with any Mexican dish.
  • This salsa can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Notes

I used about 5 mangos, not quite an entire pineapple, one medium sized onion (I like a lot of onion in mine), a medium jalapeno (you can use more or less or your liking) and one red bell pepper. You can chop the ingredients as big or as little as you like.  The jalapeno is the only thing that I think really needs to be chopped super small so the heat isn’t too much per bite!
Add more or less of any of the ingredients to your taste.  Add as much or as little lemon and lime juice as you like, same with the salt.  I would start out adding 1/2 of the lemon and lime juice then add more to your own taste.
I like this salsa best after it has sat in the fridge for a little bit.  It will need to be stirred after it has sat a while.
It will keep in the fridge for up to 4 days.
