When the Butcher Man and I were dating my mother in law had this delicious dip out. I could not stop eating it! I had no clue what was in it but I loved it! The Butcher Man started laughing when I kept eating it and I could not figure out why! (Have I mentioned I hate seafood… in any form… and that includes clams!!) So I was shoveling the dip in my mouth, and then he told me it was Clam Dip! I couldn’t believe it! It didn’t taste like seafood! I hate seafood (fish, shrimp, clams-all of it), and yet I will eat this clam dip… And not just eat it, but inhale this clam dip. So it has become a favorite at my house as well! My littlest eats it for breakfast if it’s around (don’t judge)! This Clam dip is a family tradition… if dip can be such a thing! And I am now sharing it with you (my cute mother-in-law was so sweet to let me share it!)

So we have this dip at all our family parties but the Butcher Man and I make it all the time at home for our family when we grill burgers or just want a snack to eat. It is easy to make up and is so delicious.

You most definitely absolutely need to try this the next time you have a barbecue or are just craving a salty dip/snack.

2 Ingredients for Easy Clam Dip

The dip is super simple! It is one 8 ounce package of cream cheese and one small can of minced clams… that’s it!

I promise though you will be hooked! Make sure the clams are minced and not chopped. The chopped are a little bit too chunky but the minced are perfect.

Just open the can of clams and dump it in with the cream cheese. Let it sit for a few minutes so it will help soften the cream cheese, then mix it up. The more you mix the softer the cream cheese will be and the better it will mix up. Just keep on mixing until it’s blended to the perfect creamy consistency.

The BEST Chips for Easy 2 Ingredient Clam Dip

Now this is the super important part… You have to buy the right kind of potato chips to go with the dip. The kind of chips that we always have to have are the Ruffles with Ridges (not getting paid to say that). I promise if you a try different kind it will not have the same taste!! (Okay maybe it will but take my advice and get the right kind of chips!)

  1. Am I supposed to drain the clams or include the juice?
