No equipment is needed! You need a bowl and fork or spoon for stirring the dip. You will need a can opener, however, for opening the can of clams!

Make sure your cream cheese is softened. I recommend letting your cream cheese sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes so it can soften before making this dip. I also let the can of minced clams and the juice sit on top of the cream cheese in the bowl for a few minutes to help the juice soften the cream cheese even mor for stirring the dip together.
Absolutely, you can double this recipe! Just double the ingredients and make sure to get more chips for dipping.
You need a small can (6.5 oz.) of minced clams. They sell “chopped” clams also but I refer the minced clams as they tend to be in smaller pieces for the dip. If you can’t find minced clams you can use chopped clams and just chop them up into smaller pieces before making the dip.
NO! DO NOT drain the clams!!! You need the savory clam juice for added flavor and liquid for to make the cloak dip creamy and flavorful!
Clam Dip needs to be stored in the fridge and can last up to about 3 days. You will need to give it a stir after it has been in the fridge.

All you need or this Easy Clam Dip Recipe are a block of cream cheese and a can of minced clam (with the juice)! And of course you will need some chips for dipping!
What type of clams are needed for Clam Dip?
Canned minced clams is what this Clam Dip recipe calls for.
The minced clams are easy to find at most grocery stores and are usually found on the same aisle as tuna fish. The can looks like a tuna fish can. (You can see the brand I prefer below).
I prefer using minced clams because they tend to come in smaller pieces for the dip, which makes the dip easier to eat.
You can use “chopped clams” but the clam pieces may be a bit bigger. If the bigger pieces bother you then just chop them up into smaller pieces for the dip.
DO NOT DRAIN THE CLAMS! You need the clam juice for the dip! It adds extra flavor and makes the dip creamy and easier to mix.
How to Make Easy Clam Dip?
This 2 ingredient dip is so easy!
It takes minutes to mix together but I recommend letting the cream cheese soften at least 30 minutes before you mix up this dip.
When the cream cheese is softened just add the cream cheese to a smaller bowl and then dump the clams on top of the cream cheese.
NOTE: I like to let the clams and juice sit on the cream cheese for a few minutes to help soften the cream cheese just a bit more so it makes stirring the clam dip easier (and the softer the cream cheese, the easier it is to get out the lumps of cream cheese). This is not necessary at all. You can stir it right up after adding the clams.
TIP: I like to use a fork to break up the cream cheese and I feel like a fork, when stirring the dip, tends to get rid of the lumps of the cream cheese easier. But a spoon works great!
Just stir the cream cheese and clams together until there are hardly any lumps of cream cheese and the dip is creamy.
NOTE: The dip will be lumpy because of the clams, just try and get the lumps of cream cheese blended in the best you can!
What are the BEST chips for Easy 2 Ingredient Clam Dip?
Now this is the super important part… You have to buy the right kind of potato chips to go with the dip! The right kind of chip makes this clam dip the absolute best chip dip (in my opinion)!
